[color:512a=#000]Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan that he deserves to win the award for best African player of the year in spite of his respect for all competitors on the prize, led by Didier Drogba and Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o.
Jian said in statements published on the site the Ghanaian football on the Internet today, "performed magnificently this year in the Nations Cup and World Cup, too."
"Given to my numbers this year, I think I deserve. Drogba was a source of inspiration. Talk to me when they came under heavy criticism in the African Cup of Nations in 2008 and asked me to continue to work hard."
He added, "Ito legendary player, but this year I had until Drogba and Eto'o would agree with me on that. I am now close to them and I want to be like them one day, but I played well this year and deserve the prize."
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has a list of ten players competing for the award of the 2010 winner will receive the award during the CAF awards ceremony to be held in Cairo on 20 December next.
Jian came within ten names which also included two of its citizens and Kevin-Prince Boateng two and Andrey Ayo addition to the Ivorian Salomon Kalou and Drogba and Egyptian Ahmed Hassan and Mohamed Naji (Gedo) and Cameroon's Samuel Eto'o and Seydou Keita and Algeria's Madjid Bougherra.
Jian and have a great chance to win the prize this year to be the first Ghanaian wins it for many years and specifically since the victory of the famous player Abedi Pele, the prize in 1993 for the third time in his career.
And contributed Jian (24 years), an active role in the arrival of Ghana to the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and to the final of the African Cup of Nations 2010 in Angola, where he scored three goals for the team in both tournaments.
Gyan also scored 13 goals for his former club Rennes in the French league last season.
In spite of the strong competition that waits Jian star of Sunderland English Premier Drogba and Eto'o on the CAF award, the player finds that he deserves to win the award thanks to the excellent performance with his club and country throughout this year.
